Cannabidiol (CBG) and cannabinol (CBN) are two of the more than 100 types of natural chemical components called cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant.
What is CBG ?
CBG, or cannabigerol, is called ” the mother of all cannabinoids” for good reasons – it’s the origin molecule that all other cannabinoids are synthesized from. Like CBD, CBG is not psychoactive.
It is increasingly being used as an active ingredient in cannabis products promoting general wellness and research to date suggests CBG may have anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial benefits.
What is CBN ?
Cannabinol (CBN) is a mildly psychoactive cannabinoid found in trace amounts from cannabis. CBN is mostly found in cannabis that is aged and stored, and is derived from the plant’s main psychoactive chemical, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
There is evidence to suggest that THC and CBN, when combined, can provide a more deep relaxation feeling and possibly help improve sleep quality. However more research is needed in this emerging study of minor cannabinoids.
